Privacy policy

Who we are

This website, injahstudio.com, and the YouTube channel Kids Town (youtube.com/@KidsTownOnline) are run by Injah Studio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17516396, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Injah Studio Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can write to us at that address; a studio email address will be added here once it is set up.

This website

This website is a small set of static pages. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services, and loads nothing from third-party servers.

Like every web server, ours keeps an access log: the IP address of each request, the time, the page requested, and the browser's user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure. They are deleted automatically after 14 days.

If you write to us, we keep your message and our reply for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and for no more than two years afterwards.

The Kids Town YouTube channel

Kids Town is hosted by YouTube. When you watch, like, subscribe or comment, YouTube and Google process that data under the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service. Every video on the channel is marked as made for kids, so YouTube limits the data it collects from viewers of those videos and turns off personalised advertising and comments on them. We see only the aggregated statistics YouTube shows every channel owner, never individual viewers.

Our use of YouTube API Services

We upload videos to Kids Town with an internal tool, KidsTown Uploader, which uses YouTube API Services. By using the tool we agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the tool's use of Google data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

The tool is not available to the public. It is used only by Injah Studio Ltd, on our own computers, and it signs in only to our own Google account and our own channel. It does not collect, store or process any data about viewers, subscribers or any other YouTube user.

Through the API the tool reads and writes data about our own channel: the list of our videos and playlists, and the title, description, thumbnail, captions, publishing schedule and audience setting of the videos we upload. To do this it holds an OAuth 2.0 token for our Google account. The token is stored on the studio's own computer and nowhere else, is never shared with anyone, and is used for no other purpose. We keep it until we revoke it or stop using the tool. The tool does not use the data to serve advertising, does not sell it, and does not share it with third parties.

If we ever revoke the tool's access, we do so on the Google security settings page (Google Account, Security, Third-party apps and services), and the stored token is deleted. Should the tool ever be offered to anyone outside the company, we will update this policy before doing so and obtain their consent.

Children

Our films are made for children, but this website and our email address are intended for parents, carers and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to us at the address above and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We will update this page when anything above changes, and show the date of the latest change at the top.
